Safe sex is a bullshit lie propagated by a society that searches for the absolute in a world that’s very uncertain. In other words, we’re too scared to handle the truth.
Female condoms get a bad rap. People complain they’re awkward, unsightly and unsexy. I used to buy into the bad PR, but after some quality first-dick experience I can definitely say female (internal) condoms are pretty fucking great. Besides the extra cost, they’re my most favorite new thing since blow jobs.
Sometime in 2013, I was contacted by the people behind online condom retailer Lucky Bloke. They wanted to send me some samples to see if I liked what they had to offer. While I did, in fact, really like their vibe, especially compared to some design challenged competitors, I never got around to doing a write up. A study published in early 2011 found an unexpected and unexplained rise in oral cancers that are associated with HPV. When researchers sought to find an answer for their results they found a separate survey, which found a rise in oral sex. Since it is very possible to spread HPV through oral sex many experts concurred with the findings and they were subsequently released to the public.
When media outlets caught wind of these findings, they ran with the story that our wanton oral sex was causing the higher incidents of HPV related oral cancers. Unfortunately, that’s only part of the story.
